Check and Check!

Poster? Done! Website? Done! The past few days have been fully dedicated to this project so I have been able to work relatively quickly to get everything done!! It is pretty exciting to see everything finally coming together. The poster was a pain in the butt being that I really wanted to add the bottom text often shown in movie posters, but I finally got it done. I used nothing other than just "preview" on my Mac and added text directly to my poster. I wanted to use a bold font, but didnt want to cover the photograph so I put the title vertically in yellow in order to have it pop!

I completed my website as well! I kept it pretty simple with a total of only 4 pages as that seemed to be the typical layout. I really like how it came out with the colors and all as I feel like it really matches the vibe of my film idea. I would post a sneak peek, but my next post is going to be my official project anyways so just hold on tight!! Gotta keep a bit of suspense.... ;)

The Following Preview..

I wanted to add production logos and all, but it seems as though I will be unable to do so. In order to compensate, I definitely wanted to try to recreate the rating screen shown prior to previews because I feel as though it is an important element increasing the legitamacy of my product. I am extremely happy with how it came out!!! Upon trying multiple fonts, I found that Helvetica Neue most closely resembled the font used in the actual image.

Here it is :)

And Cut!

I FILMED EVERYTHING!!!!

Ah the day has finally come where I have gathered all my footage :') A few things ended up changing, like for example, the entire vibe of my film LOL. Instead of having Skye doing positive things from her bucket list, such as making someone smile and all that jazz, it ended up being more towards the side of danger. This was primarily because of the time crunch which didn't allow me to film in the locations I had originally wanted to film in, forcing me to work with what I had while still attempting to make the film enticing. Also, lack of actors. The footage is all of Skye alone, but I figured I could add voiceovers to hint at the fact that multiple characters will be present throughout the film. I can't say that my product is coming along to be exactly how I wanted, but I hope to still create something of substance that I could be proud of.

Off to editing!!!

Entirety

Ok so do not fear, I am fully aware that there are other aspects to this project aside from just the two trailers. I have started to work on my website and have laid out what to place where. i came to the conclusion that it is much simpler to work on the website upon the completion of my trailers which is what I plan to do, however, I do have the basic setup done so I just have to go in and fill in images at this point.

As far as the poster goes, I decided to stay away from the super artsy, post-modernist approach because I think it can take away from the essence of the film. My vision is to just have Skye, the main actress, looking into the camera with colorful lights upon her face representing her edginess and desire for change. I may not end up having her looking at the camera and will play around with the positioning when I am conducting the "photoshoot".

Here is a picture of my other friend to show the lighting I want to use.

Progress

Ok so, I have finalized the sound/music of my trailer which is actually a big step. It really helped me further visualize additional shots I wanted which I can re-film and add on. I am also able to have my actress send me voice notes to add on as well.

I realized I never really explained my idea for the differences in my two trailers so I'll take this time to do so. Basically, my first trailer will be pretty conventional: black screens in between clips, voiceovers, text, all the works. The second trailer will be more of a montage type footage with only music and no dialogue. I think this will really just establish the vibe of the film without giving away too much information. A lot of the actual shots will be the same or similar of course being that that is usually what is done when a film has two trailers. Each trailer will be around a minute long.

It's crunch time!!!
